by a grant from the Stay tuned for more 2008 Special Events! 2007 Events July 2007 Historic Talk: To kick off the farmers’ market, food historian Deborah Friedman from Old Sturbridge Village shared in demonstration and lecture details of home health care in early America and historic remedies for the sick. August 2007 Wood Working Demonstration: Wood worker and traditional furniture maker Christopher Nassise of The Green Woodshop demonstrated his craft in the Historical Society’s 19th century woodworking shop. September 2007 Bee Keeping Demonstration: The Essex County Beekeepers Association shared their knowledge on bee keeping and gathering honey using their traveling bee hive! September 2007 Dairy Goat Demonstrations: The Kapering Kids 4H group brought their dairy goats, allowing visitors to try their hand at milking a goat! October 2007 Barn Party: To close out a wonderful first season, vendors, shoppers, and community members were invited to attend a party in the historical society’s barn with live Mariachi music and refreshments sold by local vendors. |
