Visit Andover Historical to view, Opening Doors, created by A Better Chance Andover to celebrate the organization’s 50th anniversary.
In 1967 Andover voted to take action against racial injustice and educational inequality through the bold decision to be one of the first towns to participate in a new educational non-profit model, A Better Chance (ABC), in the high school. ABC brings students from underserved communities to live and attend school in both private secondary and excellent public community-based schools. Today, A Better Chance of Andover is the oldest continuously run Community School Program in the United States.
Opening Doors will be on view at the Andover Historical Society from March 10th through June. The opening reception will take place on March 10th from 5pm to 7pm. The reception is open to the public and registration is greatly appreciated.
